MOT Testing

Honest MOTs
Done Right

An MOT (Ministry of Transport) test is a legal requirement for most vehicles over 3 years old in the UK. At Charlton Motors we are a DVSA-authorised test centre — our testers carry out your test to the letter.

No unnecessary extras. No upselling. If it passes, it passes. If something needs attention, we'll explain it clearly and carry out any repairs on site, usually the same day.

  • Takes approximately 45–60 minutes
  • Required annually for vehicles 3 years+
  • All advisories explained clearly
  • Failure repairs carried out on site
  • Competitive pricing — call for a quote

Top Tips

Preparing for Your MOT

A few simple checks before your test can save you time and money on the day:

  • Check all exterior lights work
  • Check tyre tread — minimum 1.6mm across the central ¾
  • Ensure windscreen is free from large chips or cracks
  • Top up screenwash
  • Make sure number plates are clean and secure
  • Check your horn works
  • Ensure the handbrake holds on a slope

Not sure? Bring it in and we can do a pre-MOT check first.
